Alaska Peninsula

Hunt Species:

  • Brown Bear
  • Alaska-Yukon Moose

The population of Brown Bear on the Alaska Peninsula is at an all time high. With an abundant supply of food sources, the refuge provides excellent habitat and supports one of the highest concentrations of Brown Bear in Alaska. According to Becharof National Wildlife Refuge staff, these concessions are thought to be home to as many as 3,000 of these magnificent animals. Our outfitter’s areas span the entire width of the Alaska Peninsula, from Bristol Bay on the west to the Pacific Ocean on the east. The Island Arm of Becharof Lake provides most of the spawning habitat for Sockeye and Coho Salmon in the Becharof drainage. Consequently, it attracts very high densities of Brown Bear. His other area borders Shelikof Strait on the Pacific side of the peninsula. They have harvested many bears over 10 feet from all three areas. All hunts are 1×1 and these guides love to hunt Bear! They average over 12 years experience and some have worked with this outfitter for over 20 years. The Bear average over 9 feet with success rates over 90%. The seasons alternate hunting the fall in odd years and spring in even years. After every spring season the Alaska Peninsula ‘rests’ for 18 months until the next fall season!

Southcentral Alaska

Hunt Species:

  • Dall Sheep
  • Alaska-Yukon Moose
  • Grizzly Bear
  • Barren Ground Caribou
  • Black Bear

Stretching over six hundred miles like a crescent moon across central Alaska, the Alaska Range is a wall of formidable mountains that separates the southcentral coast from the interior of Alaska. The range is best known for its largest mountain, Denali, and for its namesake park, Denali National Park and Preserve. Denali is one of the largest mountains on Earth and yet it only occupies a small part of the entire Alaska Range.

The Alaska Range and its surrounding area is home to a plethora of quality Alaskan big game species. Neal and Brownlee, LLC works with the state’s best and most trusted outfitters in this region of Alaska. Whether you’re looking for a backpack Dall Sheep hunt, float-based Alaska-Yukon Moose hunt, or need to harvest your Barren Ground Caribou subspecies, we are able to tailor your needs. Regardless of the species, this area of Alaska is quite unforgiving, and not for the faint of heart. That said, one of the most beautiful areas in all of North America.

Dall Sheep = $19,000 – $21,500 (depending on outfitter). 7-10 days.
Alaska-Yukon Moose = $22,000 – $31,000 (depending on outfitter). 10 days.
Grizzly Bear = $14,000 – $36,000 (depending on outfitter). 10 – 14 days.
Barren Ground Caribou = $13,500 (1×1) / $9,000ea (2×1). 7-10 days.
Black Bear = $7,000ea (2×1 only). 7 days. Pike fishing included.

These rates include your air charter to/from base camp and Anchorage, AK! Additional species can be taken on a trophy fee basis on most hunts.

Fully-Guided Hunts

If a truly exceptional trophy Alaska-Yukon bull Moose is on your radar, this is the hunt for you. When it comes to putting big ones on the ground, this outfitter is unsurpassed. This talented and experienced outfitter has access to an exclusive, prime area that holds high-quality Moose, and lots of them. Situated at the foot of the Alaska Range, Mt. Spur and the Triumvirate glacier. Our clients have taken multiple record book bull Moose with this outfitter using both rifles and archery equipment.

Grizzly Bear can be taken as incidental trophies on this Moose hunt for an additional $5,500 trophy fee.

Alaska-Yukon Moose = $20,000 (1×1) / $18,000ea (2×1). 10 days.
Black Bear = $5,000 (1 Bear), $6,000 (2 Bears). 6 days. Spring (baited).

Fully Outfitted, Self-Guided Hunts

In our opinion, this is one of the most economical ways to experience hunting in proven, productive areas in Alaska today. Hunters are dropped at fully-equipped spike camps stocked with tents, food, canoes and field prep equipment. The outfitter provides the logistics, and the hunter does the rest. These hunts take place in a Unit that is known for high Moose populations and trophy bulls. Be prepared for a very tough hunt, and knowledge of the outdoors is key on these hunts. This is a real bargain for the accomplished hunter looking to bag a trophy bull.

Alaska-Yukon Moose = $8,500ea. 2 hunters required. 10-14 days.

About 50,000 acres of the island is inhabitable by the deer, so you can imagine how dense the population is!  You can expect to see hundreds upon hundreds of deer per day.  Our outfitter is committed to the conservation of this endemic species by incorporating best management practices, and to boosting the local economy by contributing a portion of all harvested deer to farm-to-table markets.  This is a fantastic option to add to a family vacation in Hawaii, and you’ll stay in one of the nicest resorts in the entire U.S.A.
